Juvenile Correctional Facilities

The students have been given three questions to work with and wrote explanations about their opinions.

Here are the three questions:
1) Are they a good idea?
2) What age should children be sent there?
3) What other options are there?

Q 1: Are they a good idea?
Yes, they are a good idea as they try to change the minds and personality of young offenders, as they have a whole life ahead of them to live and enjoy; that is if they choose to change. People try and control the minds of the criminals as it is sometimes due to family backgrounds or spare time to do nothing and choose the worst path of life and steal things they cannot afford. Hence, the name Correctional Facilities.

Q 2: What age should children be sent there?
The age of the children which I presume should go to a juvenile correctional facility like Camp Green Lake should be in the age group of 11-17 years old.
The reason why I chose this age group is because unfortunately many young offenders break the law at this age.
Another reason why I chose this age group is because the "Juvenile" facility is intended for the use of young offenders, the older offenders (ages 19-*) go to jail.

Q 3: What other options are there?

There are some other options as well
for example:The person who is too young or the Court thinks it's unnecessary to go to a correctional facility like Camp Green Lake could be on house arrest.
They could get grounded and do chores in their house for a year.

Q 1: Are they a good idea?
NO, I think that Juvenile Correctional Facilities are unfair and too tough for the teenagers because teenagers should have freedom and are still quite young to figure out what's write and what's wrong.

Q 2:What age should children be sent there?
The age of children who i think should go to Juvenile Correctional Facilities should be the age group of 16-18 i think that because this age group is just about to step into there real life and what they do now decides their future.

Q 3: What other options are there?
I think there is one other option that if teenagers do something very bad under the age of 16 they should be sent to boarding school in which they do work on their own and are also not allowed outside the building. If people above 16 do something very bad they should be sent to jail.

Q 1: Are they a good idea?
I believe they are a good idea as long as it is only effective counseling given by nice, friendly yet strict people. There shouldn't be any kind of work as they are to young and by making them work is not going to change them, if you want to change their life you have to change their mind first.
